Miami Under the Surface is a collection of photos taken from underwater in swimming pools and other bodies of water throughout South Florida but mostly in Miami Beach. They are taken with a Kodak camera from the bottom of swimming pools with the camera facing in an upward direction and the subject matter above the surface of the water. The blurry, abstract amorphous effect of seeing objects through the water creates a form of impressionism all its own. The end result is never predictable which allows for the unexpected beauty that oftentimes occurs.
