The images from the Flowers collection were mostly taken from under the surface of the water. The technique of underwater photography requires so many variables to be exactly in the right order to get the desired result. The ability to remain steady under water without breathing and to focus the camera in the exact right angle and for the motion of the water to be advantageous are just a few of the requirements to get the shot. Hundreds of takes over several days are sometimes required before a satisfactory image is obtained. In other words, it’s hit or miss and catch as catch can.
